The included bulb is actually a "bridging bulb". It's nice to be able to turn on the lamp immediately upon receipt! The salt lamp performs best when you purchase a high-quality bulb. Suitable bulbs are oven bulbs of 15-25 watts. Osram, for example, offers these bulbs. A bulb with a copper fitting has a longer lifespan than a bulb with an aluminum fitting. LED lights are not suitable, as they generate too little wattage. Once you've purchased the correct bulb, the salt lamp can easily burn for hours a day!
