The sleeping bag does not need to be washed before the first use; after the knitting process, the material is carefully cleaned. Moreover, wool is self-cleaning, so it doesn't need to be washed often anyway. Hanging it outside overnight or in a humid bathroom often works wonders, making it smell fresh again! If the sleeping bag has a stain, you can easily clean it locally.

Still needs a wash? Wool fleece is a bit more sensitive than other wool products. To ensure you can enjoy your wool fleece for as long as possible, we strongly recommend washing it by hand. Use a small amount of wool detergent for this. Use lukewarm water (30°C) and avoid temperature fluctuations (so do not rinse the wool with cold water!) After washing, gently press the water out of the wool, avoiding wringing and rubbing. Pull the wool back into shape and let it dry flat. Should you still want to machine wash the wool, this is at your own risk. Choose a wool wash program and make sure to manually adjust the spin speed to max. 600 rpm. Cold rinsing can cause the wool to shrink, so make sure this function is disabled.

Washing instructions

Please note: This item does not need to be washed before first use. The material has already been thoroughly cleaned after the knitting process. In addition, wool is naturally self-cleaning, so it generally does not need to be washed often. Simply airing it outside overnight or hanging it in a steamy bathroom can work wonders, leaving it smelling fresh again.

If the item gets a stain, you can easily spot-clean it with a small amount of gall soap. (Do not use regular stain removers, as these can damage the wool fibres.)

If the item needs to be washed, please note that wool fleece is more delicate than other wool products. To keep it looking its best for as long as possible, wash it by hand or use a wool cycle on your washing machine (do not use the hand wash or delicate cycle).

Hand wash: Gently move the item through lukewarm water (max. 30°C / 86°F) without rubbing or wringing. Make sure the water remains at the same temperature throughout the wash, so do not rinse with cold water. Use a mild, natural wool detergent and do not use fabric softener. After washing, gently press out excess water using a towel, reshape the item, and lay it flat to dry. Do not dry it on a radiator or in a tumble dryer.

Wool cycle: Wash at max. 30°C / 86°F using a low spin speed, preferably no more than 400 rpm. Use a mild, natural wool detergent and do not use fabric softener. After washing, gently reshape the item and lay it flat to dry. Do not dry it on a radiator or in a tumble dryer.

This item was washed during the production process as part of our quality control and to ensure it retains its correct shape. Any shrinkage that occurs afterwards is usually the result of using the wrong wash programme (for example, a hand wash or delicate cycle instead of a wool cycle), using an unsuitable detergent (too harsh or not specifically formulated for wool), washing at too high a temperature, or using a spin speed that is too high.
